Commitment
Materia Creative Collective is committed to making Spicy Cards accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This statement explains the current accessibility status of the service, known limitations, and how to request support or an alternative way to complete key steps.
Scope
This statement applies to:
- The Spicy Cards website (landing page and related marketing pages)
- The purchase journey on the Spicy Cards website, including launching the checkout overlay
- The post-purchase access flow (delivery of a Gumroad receipt email with a content access link, and the destination access page)
- The Spicy Cards game user interface (web-based)
Service description (how access is delivered)
Spicy Cards is a subscription-based digital product. After successful payment, the purchaser receives a Gumroad receipt email containing a link to access the content. Access continues for the paid billing period and, if the subscription is cancelled, remains available until the end of that billing period.
Third-party payment checkout (Gumroad overlay)
Payments are processed through a Gumroad checkout overlay. The checkout overlay is provided and maintained by Gumroad.
If the checkout overlay, receipt email, or access flow presents an accessibility barrier that prevents completing a purchase or reaching the game, please email contact@spicy-cards.com. Materia Creative Collective will provide an alternative way to complete the purchase or receive access.
Accessibility standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Compliance status
Partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What is currently accessible
- Key site navigation and primary calls to action are designed to be operable by keyboard.
- The checkout overlay can be launched from the landing page using keyboard input.
- Core parts of the game UI are operable by keyboard.
Known limitations
Some parts of Spicy Cards are not yet fully accessible. In particular:
- The game UI has not yet been fully audited against WCAG 2.2 AA across assistive technologies.
- Support with screen readers and other assistive technologies may be incomplete for certain interactive elements and dynamic updates within the game.
Video captions
The Spicy Cards explainer video includes optional captions that can be enabled in the video player.
Technical prerequisites and testing
We aim to support current versions of major desktop and mobile browsers.
Testing completed so far:
- Basic manual testing with keyboard navigation for key flows (landing page, checkout launch, access page, core game navigation)
Further testing is planned, including coverage with screen readers and WCAG 2.2 AA checks across the full purchase to access to gameplay flow.
Feedback, support, and alternative formats
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email contact@spicy-cards.com.
To help diagnose the issue, please include:
- The page or feature where the problem occurred (landing page, checkout overlay, Gumroad receipt email, access page, game UI)
